In 1986, Calvin Gilmore unveiled his Carolina Opry, which brings to the Grand Strand area some of the industry's top dancers, musicians, and singers for shows that dazzle audiences with their unique blend of music and comedy. Some might even think it a "rodeo opera" that chronicles the American Civil War ­ in fact, audience members are asked to choose which side they support, the North or the South. In addition to the show, the price of admission includes a hearty four-course meal and the Carriage Room Opening Act, a vaudevillian-style show that can feature everything from song and dance to juggling routines.
